DFW Weather: the heatwave rolls on with record heat possible the rest of the workweek

High temps in the 90s remain in the forecast the rest of the week, but cooler temps return just in time for the weekend.

DALLAS — An early taste of summer has moved into North Texas and will continue tthrough the weekend and next week. We could even see our first 100° day.

EN ESPAÑOL: El calor intenso de principios de temporada se continúa durante la semana

Summer heat continues

A pattern much more similar to what we see in the middle of the summer will continue to dominate the forecast through the rest of the workweek.

There is at least a little bit of good news...

Over the next few days, humidity may decrease just a bit. This means it won't feel AS muggy outside. It'll still be warm to hot, but maybe not feel as bad as the last several days. Afternoon heat index values will be much closer to actual temperatures.

The rain chances remain minimal, too. We may see a scattered storm or two along our western counties during the afternoon Friday.

The pattern stays summer-like with above normal temperatures and below normal rainfall through the middle of May. Mid to late next week, it gets even hotter! We could see our first triple digit heat day before next weekend.
