GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) announced its 2024 season schedule on Tuesday, which will have an extra six league matches compared to the inaugural 2023 season.
The season will be played throughout the month of July at two venues in the United States: Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Church Street Park in Morrisville, North Carolina. The first set of matches will come on Friday, July 5, when MLC’s reigning champions, MI New York, take on 2023 runners-up Seattle Orcas at Church Street Park.
The Texas Super Kings will also play against LA Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Stadium to open the season.
"We are incredibly excited to unveil the schedule for the 2024 season," said Cognizant Major League Cricket’s CEO, Vijay Srinivasan. "This promises to be our most thrilling season yet, with each of the MLC’s six teams actively recruiting in the off-season."
Following three weeks of matches, the top four seeds will compete in the post-season tournament. Seeds 3 and 4 will compete in Eliminator and seeds 1 and 2 will compete in Qualifier. The winner of Qualifier will advance to Championship with the loser going into the Challenger match. The winner of Eliminator will advance to the Challenger match and the loser of Eliminator will be eliminated.
The winner of the Challenger match will then advance to the Championship to take on the winner from the Qualifier match.
