DFW Forecast: Calmer winds and warmer temps

After a very windy Monday night into Tuesday, calmer winds will be around Tuesday night with much warmer weather on Wednesday.

DALLAS — Here's a look at the latest forecast:

Quick facts:

  • Calmer winds Tuesday night
  • Warmer weather Wednesday and Thursday
  • Coldest temps of the season so far by next week

Peak wind gusts

It was very wind Monday night into Tuesday morning with quite a few gusts of over 50mph. There were even gusts of 60+ mph around Fort Worth!

That's as strong as winds in a severe thunderstorm, but there were no thunderstorms nearby at that time. It was just wind!

Wednesday

The breeze will pick up again on Wednesday but this time out of the south, and it will not be nearly as gusty as what it was Monday night. Gusts 20-30 mph are possible.

That wind out of the south along with abundant sunshine will allow temps to warm into the 60s for afternoon highs. Back above normal for this point in the winter.
