Chili, line dancing, and Old 97's: Here are 32 things to do in DFW this weekend

Whether it is through a bowl of chili, a new dance, or an old-school concert, there are plenty of ways to thaw out from the winter storm.

TEXAS, USA — Who's ready to be back outside?!

This week's winter storm has had a lot of us in our homes for several days. The good news is our temps will start moving above freezing Thursday and the sunshine will be back this weekend.

Keep in mind, it could take a while for all of that ice and slush to melt away from the roads. So, wherever you're heading, take your sweet time!

Here are just a few things happening around the Dallas-Fort Worth area this weekend:

Friday, Feb. 3

Chili-pa-looza (Plano)

Name a better way to warm up from this week than with a heaping bowl of chili! Holy Grail Pub in Plano is hosting a Chili-pa-looza all this weekend for anyone with a taste of the comfort food classic.

From Friday to Sunday, you can taste up to four different chilis made in-house. Try one by itself or taste a flight of all four along with a side of smoked brisket, green chili chicken, turkey and hominy, or vegetarian white bean. If you like it enough, you can take home a quart of chili (4 cups, 2 bowls) for $15.

Saturday, Feb. 4

Smooth Groove Sessions (Fort Worth)

Are there any line dances you've been wanting to learn before the next big party? Mr. Make You Move's got you covered with a Smooth Groove Session.

This dance class is for people 21 and over. There will be a mixer at 7 p.m. with cocktails and appetizers, then the class starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Saturday's "Black History Groove" session start at $14. So grab a drink, meet a friend, and get down to some old and new school line dances.

Sunday, Feb. 5

Old 97's Reunion Show (Dallas)

Get rid of those Monday blues with some Dallas-based nostalgia. Old 97s will have shows this weekend to celebrate their 30-year reunion.

Sunday might be your best chance to see the band perform. Because of the storm, the band is combining their Thursday and Friday shows and moving it to The Studio at The Factory. Also, as of Thursday morning, tickets for their Saturday show were sold out (you can join the waitlist, though!).

So grab your Sunday tickets! The show starts at 8 p.m. at The Studio.
