DALLAS — Travelers, this one's for you.

American Airlines on Thursday announced it will be operating daily nonstop flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Auckland, New Zealand starting on Oct. 29.

The Fort Worth-based airline says the service will be in operation through March 25, 2023, on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

“Auckland joins a lineup of exciting international destinations that we offer from DFW, and as DFW’s hometown airline, we are proud to open the splendors of New Zealand to our local customers and those who connect through DFW from across our global network,” said Jim Moses, American’s vice president of DFW operations.

DFW Airport is becoming a destination for travelers interested in the Oceania region and cities within Australia and New Zealand.

Earlier this year, the airport announced it would be offering nonstop Qantas flights to Melbourne, Australia. According to DFW Airport, it would be the only airport not on the West Coast to offer a nonstop service to Melbourne.

“DFW Airport is one of the most connected airports in the world, and American Airlines’ service to Auckland will provide an additional, convenient choice for our customers," said John Ackerman, executive vice president of global strategy and development.
