Storm chances through the weekend

Bottom line: The pattern turns unsettled through the weekend with daily chances for rain.

It won't rain all day every day everywhere in North Texas, but rain is possible each day. As of now, the overall severe threat looks low each day, but it is spring and some storms could be severe.

Rounds of heavy rain could cause flooding in places that have seen the highest recent rain totals as well as repeated rounds of rain this week. We'll continue to take each day as it comes.

Tonight

Some storm redevelopment is expected in western parts of the area into evening. Overall severe threat during the day appears low, but can't rule out a storm with some damaging wind and hail.

The threat does increase for far western North Texas. The threat looks to be very isolated.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

More rounds of rain are possible through the weekend, but it won't rain constantly everywhere all weekend long. As of now, chances look best on Sunday.

Rainfall forecast

Between Thursday and Sunday around 1in to 3in is possible across most of the area. That likely won't fall all at once, but multiple rounds of rain through the weekend will add up to around 1in to 3in through the end of the weekend.

Since the ground is already soggy from recent rain, flooding issues are possible in areas that see the most rain. Stay weather aware and do not drive into or flooded roadways if you encounter them!
