Severe threat for North Texas has decreased, much colder by Thursday

10 p.m. Tuesday Update

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was in effect for D-FW and parts of North Texas until 10 p.m. has expired.

Storms have failed to materialize thanks to a cap remaining in place over most of North Texas.

A cold front is moving through the D-FW and will move through the rest of North Texas overnight. The front will bring much colder weather by Thursday.

It is still not impossible for some showers or even a thunderstorm to form along the front as it moves moves through, but severe storms are unlikely.

Much cooler Thursday

Temps will be around 30° cooler on Thursday!

Highs will likely only be in the 40s with a breezy wind from the northwest making it feel even cooler.

We'll be dry Thursday and Friday, but it will be a reminder that we are still in winter.
