DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic not only has magic with the basketball in his hands but apparently with a video game controller as well.
Between Game 1 and Game 2 of the Mavs-Thunder playoff series on Wednesday night, Doncic revealed on his Instagram story that the 25-year-old had reached the top 500 ranking in what is known as the "tank role" in the popular video game Overwatch 2.
This isn't the first time Doncic caused a stir on social media because of his love for Overwatch. During the end of last year's regular season, Doncic randomly showed up on a Twitch streamer's Overwatch 2 game.
At the beginning of that match, it wasn't immediately apparent that Doncic was on the team, as he went by the username "Donatello."
It wasn't until the streamer known as "m0xyy" attempted to start a conversation with Donatello, who was playing as characters Reinhardt and Zarya, that the team realized they were playing with an NBA superstar.
Doncic and the Mavs face off against the Thunder on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Paycom Arena in Oklahoma City.
