DALLAS — The Dallas Wings basketball program is promoting one of their own to serve as an assistant coach.

Zak Buncik has been a part of the Wings basketball staff since 2022, serving as the team’s player development coach for the past two seasons.

“We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Zak Buncik to assistant coach,” said Wings Head Coach Latricia Trammell.

He joins fellow Wings assistants Brandi Poole and Courtney Paris who return for their second season.

Before joining the Wings, Buncik ran a skills development business where he worked with all levels of basketball players, including NBA and WNBA stars. He was also on the men’s coaching staff at UT-Arlington, where the team had their winningest stretch in program history from 2008-2018.

“His unwavering loyalty, deep commitment, knowledge of the game, and dedicated approach have been invaluable to our team's success. I look forward to working with Zak in our pursuit to win a championship," said Trammell.

The Dallas Wings will open their 2023 season against the Atlanta Dream on May 20 at College Park Center in Arlington. Season tickets and single-game tickets can be purchased here.
