He and several others committed 21 bank robberies in Dallas in 2008. The F.B.I. called the groupthe Scarecrow Bandits because they sometimes wore loose, plaid shirts and floppy hats.

The group was known for being violent, and putting guns directly into the faces of bank employees. Robberies were committed in various banks in Garland, Richardson, Fort Worth, Irving, Dallas, and Desoto.

Each robbery was well-organized, and generally lasted only a few minutes. The group was arrested in June 2008, after a failed bank robbery in Garland.
