Programming note: 'WFAA News 8' to air at 8 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. due to Mavs-Kings game; '20/20' to air on 8.2 signal

The Dallas Mavericks' Friday night matchup against the Sacramento Kings will tip off at 9 p.m. on WFAA following a 8:30 p.m. pregame show.

DALLAS — TEGNA and the Dallas Mavericks are partnering to locally broadcast a number of the team's remaining games in the 2023-2024 NBA season

This will lead to a handful of changes for some WFAA programming.

Because Friday night's Dallas Mavericks matchup against the Utah Jazz will tip off at 9 p.m., "WFAA News 8 at 10" will not air in its usual 10 p.m. time slot.

Instead, a special edition of the local news will air live at 8 p.m., followed by a live Dallas Mavericks pre-game tipoff show at 8:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, "Shark Tank" will air as scheduled at 7 p.m. on WFAA's main broadcast signal as part of ABC's regular Friday night programming. The "20/20" broadcast originally slated to air from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. is, however, being preempted.

"20/20" viewers can still watch the show in its expected Friday night timeslot on WFAA's 8.2 over-the-air broadcast signal. The show will also be available for streaming live on Hulu starting on Saturday morning.

This week's "20/20" episode will not be re-aired overnight on WFAA's main signal.
