WATCH: Irving officer runs down goat, catches wild peacock in back-to-back calls Monday

Irving Police released body camera footage of the wild encounters on Tuesday.

IRVING, Texas — The Irving Police Department has a new pet detective, and no, it's not Ace Ventura.

The department released some pretty funny body camera footage Tuesday after an officer responded to two wild back-to-back calls Monday afternoon.

Officer Turner's day began when nature called just after noon on April Fool's Day, responding to a call about a goat on TX-183 near Esters Road that was on the lamb.

His body camera shows him arriving, borrowing some french fries from a motorist, and trying to lure the goat out from under a trailer.

The goat then takes off and leads Turner on a foot chase through the parking lots of Irving Market Center. It ducks into some bushes until Turner and another officer can pin it down. It was handed over to the county once caught.

Roughly 15 minutes later, Turner was on another call in a resident's backyard where a wild peacock with a broken leg was wandering around.

The resident and Turner captured the peacock, which was taken to the city's shelter for further care.

All in a day's work, they say!
