Programming note: 'Abbott Elementary', 'Not Dead Yet' and 'The Conners' to air overnight on WFAA due to Mavs-Heat game

The Dallas Mavericks' Wednesday night matchup against the Miami Heat tipped off at 6:30 p.m.

DALLAS — TEGNA and the Dallas Mavericks are partnering to locally broadcast a number of the team's remaining games in the 2023-2024 NBA season

This will lead to a handful of changes for some WFAA programming.

Tonight, the Dallas Mavericks' matchup against the matchup against the Miami Heat tipped off at 6:30 p.m. following 'WFAA News 8 at 6'.

This means that new episodes of "The Conners", "Not Dead Yet" and "Abbott Elementary" that were scheduled to air this evening will instead air overnight on WFAA in the early-morning Thursday hours -- at 1:11 a.m., 1:41 a.m. and 2:11 a.m., respectively -- for the late-night crowds, and those wanting to set up recordings on their DVR-enabled devices.

Meanwhile, "The $100,000 Pyramid" will air as scheduled at 9 p.m. on WFAA's main broadcast signal as part of ABC's regular Wednesday night programming. If the Mavs game goes past 9 p.m., WFAA will join "The $100,000 Pyramid" in progress.

Antenna users can still watch "The Conners", "Not Dead Yet" and "Abbott Elementary" as they air live in their usual Wednesday night timeslots on WFAA's 8.2 over-the-air broadcast signal.

All of these shows will also be available for streaming live on Hulu starting on Friday morning.

Viewers can follow this link for directions on where to purchase an antenna and for detailed instructions on how to make sure their TV picks up those 8.2 channel broadcasts.

After tonight's game, the Mavericks have one more game airing on WFAA:

  • Fri. Apr. 12 vs Detroit Pistons, 7:30 p.m. CT
