Man in critical condition after being shot by Fort Worth police in 'domestic' incident, officials say

Police said a man had attempted to enter a home with a shotgun and take children located in the home.

FORT WORTH, Texas — One man is in critical condition after being shot by Fort Worth police during a domestic incident, the second reported in North Texas just Wednesday evening

Fort Worth police said officers responded to a home on Lackland Road on a domestic disturbance call. Police said a man had attempted to enter a home with a shotgun and take children located in the home. 

According to officers, the suspect was unsuccessful and left. 

They said the man returned shortly after and officers attempted to block him from coming back. The man tried to get around officer vehicles and a collision happened. 

Fort Worth police said, "the suspect presented the officers with a deadly force situation," which led to them shooting towards the man's vehicle.

The man was shot and taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said. 

It's not clear if the man shot at officers prior to the collision. 

No other details were released.
