FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating an accident that killed a man Saturday night.

The department said they got a call at about 8:45 p.m. from a woman saying her husband had been hit in the southbound lanes of Highway 287 near Blue Mound Road.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man in the grassy median on the northbound side of the highway. First responders tried to provide medical aid, but the victim was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Jordon Jacob Beggs, 28, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

According to officials, the man and his wife were arguing when they pulled over. The victim allegedly got out of the vehicle and tried to cross the highway when he was hit by a separate vehicle.

Police said the driver of that other vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No charges are expected at this time.
