When crews got to the scene, officials say they found the 5,000-square-foot structure with heavy smoke coming from the building.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Firefighters contained a two-alarm fire at a vacant North Texas animal clinic, the Fort Worth Fire Department said.

On Thursday around 11:59 p.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department received some calls about a vacant building that used to be Camp Bowie Animal Clinic in the 5700 block of Lovell Avenue caught on fire. The department also received reports of smoke from this area.

When crews got to the scene, officials say they found the 5,000-square-foot structure with heavy smoke coming from the building.

Firefighters were able to get access to the building through the rear side and execute a search. No one was in the building and there were no reports of injuries, officials say.

"After an hour, the fire was declared under control. Although to ensure there were no rekindles, crews rotated on scene throughout the night keeping watch," fire officials said.
