A driver in a stolen car was killed in a crash after running a red light early Thursday in Lake Highlands, police said.
Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to the intersection of Skillman Street and Royal Lane. A Nissan Altima ran a red light and hit a Dodge Charger, Dallas police said.
The driver and passenger in the Altima were ejected. Both were taken to the hospital, where the passenger remains in critical condition, officials said.
The driver was pronounced dead. Neither has been publicly identified.
Police said the Nissan Altima was reported stolen in Mesquite. Officials did not say whether the driver or the passenger were suspected in the car theft.
