Deputies need your help to ID a female recorded pleading for help outside a Wise County home

Authorities said the female was recorded saying she was "really scared" and looking around as though someone was following her before she turned from the home and ran into the nearby woods.

WISE COUNTY, Texas — Wise County officials need your help identifying a female whose voice was recorded on a home security voicemail system asking for help.

Authorities also released several images captured of the female on surveillance video that was recorded at about 1:17 p.m. Tuesday in the Indian Trails subdivision, located about a half mile off U.S. 380 Highway between Bridgeport and Decatur.

"I'm realIy scared," the female said in an audibly shaky voice. "Will you please open your gate? Please?"

The video recorded of the female as she spoke into the security system showed her looking around as if someone was following her, said the Wise County Sheriff's Office in a post on their Facebook page. Authorities said the female then turned away and ran into the nearby woods.

“It is odd," said Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin. “It’s troubling more than anything else to know that this young woman is apparently concerned, in some level of need."

The age of the female is unknown. While the Wise County Sheriff's Office initially said she appeared to be somewhere in the age range of 12 to 14, they later said a mail carrier spotted a female in the neighborhood matching the same description who appeared to be about 30 years old.

Deputies said residents who searched the area Tuesday weren't able to find her. Officials said they also haven't received any reports of a runaway or alerts from nearby school districts.

Due to the proximity of the Indian Trails neighborhood to U.S. Highway 380, they’ve also checked with the Texas Rangers and the Texas Highway Patrol.

So far, they haven’t been able to identify this mystery woman.

“Just the image and the sound of that voice tends to permeate your mind and you keep seeking answers to find out if this woman’s okay,” said Akin.

The female is described as white with shoulder-length black hair, about 5'3'' and weighing about 80 pounds. She wore black leggings, tennis shoes and an athletic top. She was also carrying a backpack and a large purse or bag.
