COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — A 40-year-old Wylie woman was sentenced to over three decades in prison in connection with a child pornography that spanned several states, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced Tuesday.

A Collin County jury found Stacey Jurik guilty of first-degree continuous sexual abuse of a child, and she was sentenced to 32 years in prison.

The investigation into Jurik began in 2021, according to the DA’s office.

Officials said Jurik was contacted by a photographer identified as Grant Durtschi – who traveled to numerous states photographing children in a sexually explicit nature.

The DA’s office said Jurik was aware that Durtschi produced child pornography, and she arranged for Durtschi to photograph a child who was in her care. The report says from 2021 through early 2022, Jurik brought that child to numerous photoshoots with Durtschi, discussing sexually explicit ideas and themes with him.

The DA’s office said Jurik would position the child in both partially nude and fully nude photos, that included simulated sexual acts. She was known to stay at the photoshoots to assist and make sure the child cooperated in the photos.

Following each photoshoot, the DA’s office said Jurik would receive “a large percentage of the proceeds that he [Durtschi] made form selling the photos online.”

In August 2021, another child that Durtschi allegedly photographed came forward to the FBI in Louisiana. The FBI began a months-long investigation into Durtschi – uncovering numerous child victims that he had photographed across several states, the FBI says.

After executing a search warrant involving Durtschi, the FBI found more than 50 electronic devices belonging to Durtschi which contained the sexually explicit photos and videos of the child Jurik had brough to him. The FBI reported that all of those videos involving Jurik took place in the DFW area.

The FBI then transferred the investigation of Jurik to the State of Texas and Dallas Police Department Detective Michael Fontenot took over as lead of the investigation. Fontenot discovered exact dates and locations of the photoshoots where Jurik took the child: Wylie, Providence Village and Dallas.

“What Jurik put this child through is unthinkably disgusting,” Willis said following the sentencing phase. “Then to also profit from the pornographic pictures of the child makes us all want to throw up.”

The DA said Jurik is not eligible for parole.
