Two dead in Dallas murder-suicide, police say

DPD said 43-year-old Roy Bell and 26-year-old D'Marcus Lott got into an argument in the parking lot of a business. DPD said Bell shot Lott and then shot himself.

DALLAS — Two men died in a shooting in Dallas Friday afternoon, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Around 2 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of West Mockingbird Lane. When they arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Dallas police initially reported two people were shot, and they were looking for a third person as a suspect.

In an update Saturday morning, DPD said 43-year-old Roy Bell and 26-year-old D'Marcus Lott got into an argument in the parking lot of a business. DPD said Bell shot Lott and then later shot himself. Bell and Lott knew each other, according to DPD.

Lott died at the scene, and Bell was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries, DPD said.
