ARLINGTON, Texas — Three people have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at an Arlington apartment where a man was killed, police said Tuesday.

The Arlington Police Department said it arrested 23-year-old Brenton Smith, 17-year-old Jaka Livingston, and 19-year-old Ahmed Osman and charged them all with capital murder.

Police said they responded to a shooting call at about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of West Arkansas Lane, near Spur 303 and South Cooper Street. According to police, 26-year-old Jared Jackson was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound outside one of the apartments. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arlington police said in the update on Tuesday that detectives believe Smith got into a dispute with Jackson over drugs and/or money, then brought Livingston and Osman with him to Jackson’s apartment, where they shot him.

The three suspects were booked into the Arlington City Jail on the warrants and have since been transferred to the Tarrant County Jail, police said.
