DALLAS — The 7-Eleven Lab Store is a one-of-its-kind convenience store that opened on March 22 right here in Dallas. There, you'll find a greater variety of products than you'll find at a regular 7-Eleven.
The store was built "to test, learn and iterate new platforms and products to see what really resonates with customers and how we can use those learnings to influence future store designs," 7-Eleven executive vice president and chief operating officer Chris Tanco said.
Here's seven things you need to know about this new convenience store.
1. Organic slurpees? You got it
You can choose from blood orange, coconut, cherry cream or cucumber. Or, if you're a purist, there's still the original slurpee options.
2. It has beer on tap
That's right. You can take it home or drink it in store, too.
3. There's a wine cellar, too
And there's one bottle that goes for $239.99.
4. Snacks by the ounce
Grab a bag and go.
5. Makeup, including some of 7-Eleven's "Simply Me Beauty" brand
Every item in the 7-Eleven makeup brand is $5 or less.
6. Laredo Taco Company
7-Eleven acquired Laredo Taco Company in 2018. The Sylvan Avenue location is the first Laredo Taco Company location in Dallas.
7. Soft-serve ice cream with free toppings
For when you need dessert after your taco.
