Also, you might want to consider drawing in a fourth column when looking at that list, so you can mark which majors might really interest you or cater to your individual talents.
How about paying for it all?
Once you settled on a field of study, then comes the hard part: Paying for your education. Reminder: We are once again in FAFSA season. FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Applications opened on Oct. 1. The deadline to get your FAFSA done in Texas is Jan. 15, 2022. There is some time, but don’t wait! A lot of aid is first-come- first-served.
You should also know that if you are planning to attend private or two-year schools, they may have different deadlines—so check with them.
Why to fill out the FAFSA even if you don't think you qualify for student aid
Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for assistance, fill it out anyway. You may be surprised to find that you can get aid. Also, you should have a FAFSA on file just in case your financial situation changes by the time you go to school next year. That has happened to a lot of students in recent years because of all the drastic economic impacts of the pandemic. Also, some scholarships and school loans require you to file a FAFSA.
