Severe storms are over in North Texas. In fact, rain is done for most of North Texas as well.

Lingering showers and storms are possible for far eastern North Texas for the next couple of hours before everyone will be done with the rain.

As storms moved through earlier this morning, they did pack a punch. Especially in areas around Cleburne to Arlington to Grand Prairie to south Dallas to Mesquite to Rockwall. Strong winds of 60+ mph were reported in those areas.

As the same storm moved into Kaufman County, a wind gust of 73 mph was reported.

Wednesday Night

The winds won't die down too much overnight. Gusts in excess of 30-35 MPH are expected to linger through Friday. If you have any loose outdoor items (patio furniture, trash cans, etc.), not a bad idea to secure those items or move them indoors. This also brings the concern of elevated fire danger. Low humidity and strong winds create this danger.
