New roundabouts are safe, quick but only if used correctly

Do you know the rules?

FORT WORTH -

If you think you are driving in circles, it is all part of the plan for many North Texas cities.

Roundabout intersections are becoming more and more popular alternatives to four-way stops and stoplights. The city of Fort Worth has increased their use of roundabouts, currently using 29 such intersections with 21 more being considered in future road projects. Many of them sit along a newly paved stretch of Park Vista Boulevard and most neighbors find them convenient but only if used correctly.

Data from the Federal Highway Administration suggests roundabouts help keep traffic moving and reduce crashes by 37% (as well as 90% fewer fatal crashes) while also costing cities less money to build.
