FORT WORTH, Texas — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed overnight near the intersection of eastbound West Freeway and Las Vegas Trail near Interstate 30 in Fort Worth.
The Fort Worth Police Department responded to the accident around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officers learned a witness observed an adult male running toward oncoming traffic, police said.
The victim was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The driver did not stop to help the victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The traffic investigation unit is investigating the incident.
Officials closed the interstate for several hours to investigate. The highway has since reopened.
