DALLAS, Texas — Drivers in Frisco may notice more closures along portions of Dallas Parkway, which serves as a free frontage road that runs parallel to the Dallas North Tollway (DNT), as crews work to widen the highway through the area.

All lanes heading north on Dallas Parkway from Panther Creek Parkway to PGA Parkway will be closed every night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Wednesday, May 15, until Saturday, May 18.

Drivers will be detoured to the west side of DNT and use Legacy Drive to continue north to PGA Parkway.

The tollway is being widened between the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) and U.S. 380 in response to the increasing population in the area. The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) hopes to enhance accessibility to commercial and entertainment establishments.

This initiative involves adding an extra lane in both directions to facilitate traffic flow as the population in northern Collin and Denton counties grows. In addition to widening the DNT main lanes, the project will also involve rebuilding the intersection and DNT bridge over Fields Parkway in Frisco. The anticipated completion date for this project is late 2025.
