2024 Dallas Cup: Record 284 teams & 491 games scheduled, 13 champions to be crowned in youth international soccer tournament

The Dallas Cup is the most prestigious youth soccer tournament in the United States and it is widely regarded as one of the most competitive in the world.

DALLAS — The 2024 Dallas Cup, the United States' most prestigious youth soccer tournament, will feature a record 284 teams competing in 13 different divisions of boys and girls competitions from ages U-12 through U-19.

The invitation-only tournament, which started in 1980, runs during Easter Week (Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday) and thus will be held this year from March 23 to March 31. Youth soccer teams from all over the world will come to North Texas to compete. Traditionally, the makeup of the field comprises of 40% international teams, 40% state-side teams and 20% Dallas-area teams. 

2024 Dallas Cup schedule

The Dallas Cup begins on March 23 with preliminary games on the girls side. The boys preliminary matches begin on March 24. Matches will be played all across the DFW metroplex, including at Cotton Bowl Stadium, Classic League Soccer Complex, MoneyGram Soccer Park and Toyota Stadium.

All of the Dallas Cup final matches will be played at Toyota Stadium.

Dallas Cup history, alumni

Over the course of the past 40-plus years, several of the world’s most prestigious clubs have participated in the Dallas Cup, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, River Plate, “Chivas”, Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Club America, PSG, and AC Milan, and more.

Some of soccer's biggest stars competed in the Dallas Cup as youth players, including David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, Ricardo Pepi, Alphonso Davies, Bukayo Saka, and Weston McKennie. Between players and referees, 50 Dallas Cup tournament alumni were featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
