What time do the Rangers play Opening Day? When does Globe Life Field open? What about parking?

The defending World Series champion Texas Rangers will host the Chicago Cubs for their home opener on Thursday, March 28.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Fresh off their first World Series title in franchise history, the Texas Rangers open their season against the Chicago Cubs.

The Rangers and Cubs will play a three-game series to open the 2024 MLB season, with games coming on Thursday, March 28, Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31.

Earlier this month, the Rangers unveiled their gold-trimmed jerseys that they'll presumably wear on Opening Day to commemorate their World Series title. This is a yearly thing that the reigning World Series champs will don on the first game of the season, or even over the first week or so. Fans were able to purchase items from their "Gold Collection" on March 21 at the Grand Slam Team Store at Globe Life Field.

The team will unveil the 2023 World Series Champions banner on March 28 as part of the opening day ceremonies.

Then on Saturday, the Rangers will receive their World Series rings in an on-field ceremony before the first pitch.

When does the Texas Rangers game start on Opening Day?

The home opener is set to begin at 6:39 p.m.

When does Globe Life Field open?

Globe Life Field parking lots will open at 2 p.m. and ballpark gates will open at 3:30 p.m. on Opening Day. The Rangers encourage fans to arrive early on opening day.

When does Texas Rangers batting practice start?

Rangers’ batting practice begins at 3:30 p.m. followed by the Cubs at 4:30 p.m., and the pregame ceremonies are scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Who is the Texas Rangers starting pitcher and who is in the starting lineup?

The starting pitchers for Opening Day were released last week, and Nathan Eovaldi will be on the bump for Texas.

The full starting lineup will be released sometime Thursday afternoon. But we *likely* assume the Rangers will roll out second baseman Marcus Semien and shortstop Corey Seager at the top of the order, followed by some combination of left fielder Evan Carter, right fielder Adolis Garcia, catcher Jonah Heim, third baseman Josh Jung, centerfielder Leody Taveras and designated hitter Wyatt Langford.

The main question mark at this stage is who will get the nod at first base, as starter Nathaniel Lowe is out with injury. Jared Walsh and utilityman Ezequiel Duran are the top candidates.

What new food is at the ballpark?

This year's new concession stand offerings include a play on the classic Boomstick, and the club's spin on tacos, empanadas and Korean-style pulled pork.

There's also a Whataburger stand planned for the concourse near Section 105. That will open April 5.
