Wanna stay next door to the World Series? That'll be $2,000 per night

The Loews hotel is nearly attached to the stadium as part of the Texas Live! development on the north side of the ballpark.

ARLINGTON, Texas — So there's good news if you're still in the market for a World Series hotel room within spitting distance of Globe Life Field: Rooms were apparently still available on Thursday.

The bad news? It'll cost you about $2,000 per night.

The Live! By Loews hotel, which sits next door to the Rangers' ballpark in Arlington, had room rates up to $2,089 per night for Friday and Saturday.

The Rangers are hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks in Games 1 and 2 of the World Series those nights.

The Loews hotel is nearly attached to the stadium as part of the Texas Live! development on the north side of the ballpark. A second Loews hotel is being built across the street from the development, across from the Rangers' old ballpark, Choctaw Stadium.

And the room prices for Friday and Saturday probably aren't a shocker. The World Series games will likely set an attendance record for Globe Life Field, which opened in 2020. And they'll be, without a doubt, the biggest games in the history of the young stadium.

On top of a packed ballpark, Texas Live!, which has no shortage of TVs and food and drink options, will be full of Rangers fans during the games.

Neighboring hotels in the area aren't *as* expensive as Loew's, but they're not cheap.

The nearby Sheraton was going for around $500 per night, and a nearby Holiday Inn was going for around $400 per night.

The surge in hotel pricing is in line with the high demand for tickets, which were starting in the $400 range for standing-room only, on the secondary market sites. Yes, that's $400, plus another $100 or so in fees and taxes, to not even have a seat.

The good news for Rangers fans is those prices were down slightly on Thursday, and tickets for upper deck seats were dipping into the $500s. What a deal, right?
