WFAA's photography staff has been recognized with one of the highest honors in photography. On Friday, the National Press Photographers Association, NPPA, announced WFAA as the Station of the Year.

"Tonight is the culmination of so much hard work and so much dedication. This is a workplace that truly wants its photojournalists to excel doing what they love," said photojournalist Mike Botsford.

The coveted award was given to WFAA in the large market category. WFAA last won this award nearly 35 years ago. Entering the contest involved putting together a collection of stories that have aired over the course of the year into one large entry. That entry is then judged by a panel of judges.

"WFAA is the most creative place I've been in my 17-year career and I am honored to be working for them," said photojournalist Brandon Mowry.

At the award ceremony Friday, photographers representing WFAA gave special recognition to Carolyn Mungo, news director, and General Manager, Brad Ramsey, for their support in good storytelling.
