A University of North Texas at Dallas student was shot on campus Saturday night and taken to a hospital in stable condition, official said.
The suspect, who wasn't a student, fled in a vehicle, crashed and was arrested by Dallas police, UNT at Dallas president Bob Mong said in an email to the university.
The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in a parking lot on campus, just off Camp Wisdom Road and University Hills Boulevard in southeast Oak Cliff, police said. The victim, a 41-year-old student at the college, had gotten into an argument with the suspect over a child custody issue.
The suspect then pulled a gun and shot the victim before fleeing.
The suspect's name has not been released.
