And that means things could get costly.

These are the three costliest storms on record in North Texas, according to the Insurance Council of Texas.

$1.2 billion: December 26, 2015, Garland-Rowlett tornadoes

$1.1 billion: May 5, 1995, North Texas hailstorm

$890 million: June 13, 2012, DFW hailstorm

$885 million: April 5, 2003, North Texas hailstorm

$850 million: April 3, 2014, tornado/hail
