One of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the nation plans to move its headquarters from the suburbs to Dallas proper.

Wingstop Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: WING) has signed a lease to move its corporate offices to One West Village in Uptown Dallas, the company confirmed March 28.

The company will take 112,000 square feet on the entirety of the 15th through 18th floors with a 13-year lease, according to a Wingstop spokesperson.

The company is currently based in offices along Wright Brothers Drive in Addison. This comes as many other companies have turned to Uptown for corporate offices, seeking newer space with walkable amenities.

OliveMill Holdings — a new real estate investment firm from co-founders Ryan McManigal, Chris Selbo and Peter Yates — at the end of 2021 acquired the 240,000-square-foot building at 2801 N. Central Expressway, formerly home to The Richards Group. The Richards Group sold the building, then rebranded as TRG and moved to Deep Ellum, after losing accounts following controversial comments made by founder Stan Richards.

Donnie Upshaw, senior vice president of corporate restaurants and chief people officer for Wingstop, said the company has set its sights on becoming a top 10 global restaurant brand and that it believes its people are its competitive advantage.

"The Dallas area has been our home for nearly 30 years and we are excited about our new headquarters in the heartbeat of Dallas in Uptown, which positions us for the next phase of growth for our brand," Upshaw said.

A Wingstop representative did not immediately say how many employees will work at the new HQ location. As of the end of 2020, the Wingstop headquarters was set to house about 150 to 175 employees.

Wingstop moved into its current Addison headquarters in 2020 after it bought the 78,000-square-foot building at 15505 Wright Brothers Dr. for $18.3 million in June 2019. The company's offices were previously next to the Galleria.

Wingstop was the sixth-fastest growing retail chain as of 2022, adding 187 locations from the previous year, trade publication QSR reported.
