Victim in crash allegedly linked to Super Bowl Champ Rashee Rice details terrifying moments, anger

“Y’all just caused a six-car accident and didn’t one person have no sympathy, no sympathy to check on anybody," Kayla Quinn said.

PLANO, Texas — Kayla Quinn and her 4-year-old son were heading home Saturday from a day with family at the Fort Worth Zoo when they felt the first blow.

First, one car slamming into them, then a second. Their car spun out, then stopped in the left hand lane of the North Central Expressway near the Lovers Lane exit. Quinn says, when she replays the moment, she first feels gratitude.

“God was with me, it could have been way worse,” Quinn said.

Then, she says she feels anger.

“Y’all just caused a six-car accident and didn’t one person have no sympathy, no sympathy to check on anybody like careless, heartless,” she said.

Quinn’s car was one of six cars involved in that wreck.

Dallas police believe a Lamborghini and a Corvette – registered to Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Rashee Rice – were racing.

“I had no idea who was in there. The only thing I knew what was maybe in the vehicle was cleats in the back seat,” Quinn said. “I didn't pinpoint to think that it would be someone famous or someone well known or, you know, in the Super Bowl.”

After the crash, video shows the people in both cars leaving before exchanging information or checking to see if everyone is ok.

Police dispatch audio details the search for the drivers: “If you can, check the service road on Mockingbird. We have two subjects that fled from the scene.”

“I just want to do better, make better decisions. We know you got a fast car y'all, we know y'all there. You don't have to race,” Quinn said. “Apologize, please. Like someone could have been seriously hurt.”

Rashee Rice’s attorney, State Sen. Royce West, issued this statement on Monday: “Rice’s thoughts are with everyone impacted by the incident. Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”

On Wednesday, April 3, Rice posted the following statement on his Instagram stories:

"Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday's incident. I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday's accident."

Quinn says she hopes he does and takes accountability for whatever his involvement is. The single mother’s car was totaled in the accident and she’s now raising money through this GoFundMe so that she can secure transportation for her and her two sons.
