Three taken to hospital after SUV barrels through fence and into Rowlett home

HD Chopper showed the black SUV pushed through a fence with most of the vehicle ending up in the side portion of the home.

ROWLETT, Texas — A driver was taken to the hospital after their car plowed through a backyard fence and into the side of a home, according to Rowlett police.

The incident happened Monday around 4 p.m. in the 7300 block of Statford Drive. HD Chopper 8 showed the black SUV pushed through a fence with most of the vehicle ending up in the side portion of the home.

The adult driver and two minor passengers were inside the SUV at the time. Rowlett police said the driver lost consciousness right before they crashed.

The driver was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition. The two other passengers were assessed and taken to the hospital by family. 

None of the residents of the home were injured.

Police say the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
