Here is what you can buy tax-free this weekend in Texas

Texans can save on products to keep you cool and save water this Memorial Day weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas — With this weekend's heat wave, Texans can save on products to keep you cool and save water.

Through Monday, you won't have to pay taxes on air conditioners, ceiling fans, energy-saving light bulbs, dishwashers to save energy and other things like moisture control for sprinklers, rain barrels, plants and yard supplies to save water.

You can find a full list below.

Qualifying Energy Star-labeled products to buy, lease or rent:

  • Air conditioners (with a sales price of $6,000 or less)
  • Refrigerators (with a sales price of $2,000 or less)
  • Ceiling fans
  • Incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs
  • Clothes washers
  • Dishwashers
  • Dehumidifiers

Items that do not qualify for the sales tax holiday, Energy Star-labeled or otherwise:

  • Water heaters
  • Clothes dryers
  • Freezers
  • Stoves
  • Attic fans
  • Heat pumps
  • Wine refrigerators
  • Kegerators
  • Beverage chillers

Water-efficient tax holiday items

  • Soaker or drip-irrigation hoses
  • Moisture control for a sprinkler or irrigation system
  • Mulch
  • Rain barrels or alternative rain and moisture collection systems
  • Permeable ground cover surface that allows water to reach underground basins, aquifers or water collection points
  • Plants, trees and grasses
  • Water-saving surfactants
  • Soil and compost
