CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Beachgoers in Mustang Island near Corpus Christi are reporting something that looks alien.
Spaghetti monsters have been washing up on the beach, at least that's what researchers have nicknamed these bizarre creatures.
The actual name for the animals that look like eyeballs is Rhizophysa. And each one is actually many animals.
They're similar to the Portugese Man-o-War, which is a colony of animals living together as one. Also like that fearsome ocean dweller, Spaghetti Monsters share similarities with true jellyfish.
They have tentacles and can sting.
That's why if you see one, it's best to admire it from a distance.
