Police were working more than 20 wrecks in Fort Worth early Tuesday afternoon, including a reported 7-car crash on Interstate 35W and a fatal accident on Loop 820.
The fatal accident happened about 1 p.m. on East Loop 820 at Meadowbrook Drive, according to MedStar. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 7-car accident was reported about 12:40 p.m. on northbound I-35 at Allen Avenue, according to a police report. Information about injuries was not yet available.
A Fort Worth police officer was also involved in an accident in north Fort Worth at Saginaw Boulevard and Warehouse Way. The officer suffered minor injuries.
Rain continued to pass through the area, causing slick roads, though the causes of each wreck were not yet determined.
