Suspect wanted in Oklahoma murder arrested in Roanoke

July 24, 2019: Jacob Allan Barber, 21, had a warrant out for his arrest on a charge of murder from the Cleveland County Sheriff Office in Oklahoma.

Roanoke police officers arrested a man Wednesday morning, wanted in a murder in Oklahoma.

Police said officers were called shortly at 12:11 a.m. to the PetSmart in the 1200 block of Highway 377 N, near TX-114 and Highway 377. Officers saw Jacob Allan Barber, 21, sleeping on his backpack against the building. 

Police said they searched his name and found a warrant issued for his arrest on a murder charge from the Cleveland County Sheriff Office in Oklahoma.

Barber was taken into custody. He was later moved to the Denton County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Oklahoma, police said.
