Strong reactions in Uvalde to mass shooting in Maine

This latest mass shooting tugging at emotions for those who lost loved ones at Robb Elementary.

UVALDE, Texas — Strong reactions Thursday morning from families in Uvalde following the mass shooting in Maine on Wednesday night.

This latest mass shooting tugging at emotions for those who lost loved ones at Robb Elementary. And the father of one victim isn’t holding back.

Brett Cross lost his son Uziyah in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School last year. The fourth grader was among 21 students and teachers who were killed by the gunman.

After Wednesday night’s shooting, he took to social media to share his thoughts.

He wrote “I'm angry.. I’m heartbroken.. I’m devastated.. Daily."

Cross goes on to say, “Now more families will feel the same."

Gloria Cazares’ daughter Jackie was also killed on May 24.

She wrote “Lewiston, Maine.. I'm sorry we couldn’t prevent the pain, heartache, grief and anger you are about to experience."

She signed her post as, “Sincerely, a mom of a mass shooting victim."

This shooting in Maine comes a couple days before a big day in Uvalde. On Saturday, construction will begin on a new school to replace Robb Elementary. The two story campus will pay tribute to victims of the shooting.

The situation in Maine continues to develop Thursday morning.
