WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — It's been a dangerous week out on the roads for motorcyclists in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Two people were killed this week in Fort Worth and Grand Prairie including a deadly motorcycle crash in White Settlement on Friday.

A crash involving a pickup truck and motorcycle happened around 3:18 p.m. Friday in the 8100 block of Clifford Street near Waynell Street, police say. When officers arrived, they found the rider, a man in his early 40s, lying in the roadway.

There was a woman and a small child inside the pickup truck, officials say. They didn't have any major injuries and were treated at the scene. Police say the woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Officers believe the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Clifford Street, while the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Waynell. When the rider attempted to make a turn it struck the pickup truck and was thrown from his bike, police said. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once the next of kin has been notified.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the White Settlement Police Department in determining the cause of the crash.
