HOUSTON — UPDATE: Christina Johnson, 27, who had been missing for almost two weeks, was found near the University of Houston-Downtown around 6:30 a.m., Houston police said. She was evaluated to make sure she was OK.

Houston police are searching for a 27-year-old woman who has been missing since March 6.

Christina Johnson took her dog for a walk that morning, but she never came home. Now, her father fears the worst.

"Real confusion and a sense of loss right now," Emmanuel Johnson told us.

He's desperate to find his daughter.

"I don't understand where she is," he said.

Her dog Max was found Friday miles away from their home in the Alief area. Emmanuel said Christina would never leave her dog like that.

He said Christina had a daily routine of taking her dog and her computer to either the nearby Jack in the Box off Dairy Ashford or the Hackberry Community Center to work.

"She usually comes home before the evening but didn't come back that evening," Emmanuel said.

Christina is a former youth tennis champion and had recently graduated from Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.

Her father said she moved back home and was figuring out what she was going to do next. He said she would never stay away this long and certainly wouldn't leave 10-year-old Max on his own.

"She always has Max with her. The fact we find Max but not her is very alarming," he said.

Max was found six miles away from the Johnson's home wandering in the Briar Forest area.

"He's rough right now. And he's been out six or seven days on his own and he's a house dog, never been on his own like that," Emmanuel said. "Something ain't right. Obviously, she's in danger."

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call HPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 832-394-1840 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
