DALLAS — Dallas police say a man died after he was hit by a U-Haul truck in the 3700 block of South RL Thornton Freeway Tuesday.

Police say two male drivers were involved in a minor accident at about 6:45 p.m., and one driver climbed onto the hood of the other driver’s vehicle as he was leaving the scene after discussing the crash, fell into the middle lane of traffic, and was hit by the U-Haul truck going northbound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police say. The driver hasn't been identified, and no charges have been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the U-Haul truck didn’t stop, and the other driver involved in the earlier crash called 911 and remained at the scene.

This story will be updated as additional information becomes available.
