Is an East Coast-based wholesale store coming to North Texas? Here's what we know

Recent expansion has North Texans wondering if they will be getting another exclusive place to shop.

FORT WORTH, Texas — East Coast-based wholesale club BJ's could soon be coming to Fort Worth as permit records indicate a drainage study is currently being conducted for the company.

The address listed on the permit record, 5901 Altamesa Blvd., is owned by Pate Ranch Retail LP and appears to be a relatively empty lot.

Earlier this year, BJ's expanded to the Southeast and Midwest by opening stores in Maryville, Tennessee; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Palm Coast and West Palm Beach, Florida and Carmel, Indiana.

WFAA reached out to BJ's for comment, to which it replied: "We are continually looking to grow our club footprint and bring outstanding value to new communities. Our real estate pipeline is the strongest it's been in years. -- Beyond that, I don't have any information to share."

So, while the wholesale club didn't confirm the establishment of a Fort Worth location, it's not completely out of the question.

Some things North Texans could look forward to with the potential development of a local BJ's include 25% off grocery store prices, discounted gas, special coupons and more.
