DALLAS — The Hard Rock Café in Dallas is readying its final set.

The restaurant is expected to close on July 31, according to a letter sent to the Texas Workforce Commission recently. The number of employees “ultimately affected” by the layoffs there will be 27.

The concept – famous for its music-inspired themes and decorations featuring memorabilia from noted artists – is located at the southern end of Victory Park at 2211 N. Houston St.

The move follows other reported closures in the U.S. The Indianapolis eatery closed in March, according to a report by Fox59. Detroit Hard Rock Café was set to close in January after a lease expires, according to WXYZ.

The Dallas location covers 8,900 square feet, featuring 265 seats and a “Rock Shop” with limited-edition merchandise. The Victory Park spot opened in 2009 after the original Dallas location — now the site of One Uptown — closed in 2007.

About five years ago, Hard Rock announced Grand Prairie would be home to Texas' first Hard Rock Hotel in conjunction with a whimsical indoor skiing development slated to open in January 2018. However, the project was tabled by the developer group in February 2015.
