Man cooperating with investigators after allegedly shooting person in deadly road rage incident in Fort Worth, officials say

When Fort Worth officers got to the scene, they found a man who had been shot in his upper body. He later died from his injuries.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Officers are investigating a road rage incident from Wednesday that led to a deadly shooting, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

On Wednesday, south division officers from Fort Worth police were dispatched to the 12400 block of South Freeway SB SR in reference to a shooting call. 

When officers got to the scene, they found a man who had been shot in his upper body. Police did not provide details as to how many times he was shot. Officers also reportedly located the person who said he was the one who shot the victim. 

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, but he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said. 

The adult male shooter is reportedly cooperating with the investigation and has been interviewed by homicide detectives. This case is being investigated as a road rage shooting and homicide, according to police. No arrests have been made at this time. 

As of Wednesday, the Fort Worth Police Department has not yet provided details as to who the suspect or the victim is.
