It’s been called the “crown jewel” of Old Preston Hollow. And at a mere 14,179 square feet, this $14 million Mediterranean estate is sure to turn heads.

The three-story Bella Custom Homes mansion, located at 4926 Deloache Ave., was completed last year and sprawls across 1.65 acres of manicured land. It has seven bedrooms, eight full and five half bathrooms, seven living spaces, a 5,000-bottle wine cellar, and pool and spa.

Susie Swanson, co-broker of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s, told the Dallas Business Journal
the house was built by Tony Visconti, president of Dallas-based Bella Custom Homes.

“It’s fabulous,” Swanson said. “It’s a fabulous builder. (Visconti) is a master builder. I love every room in the house.”

Past the tall white pillars of the arched front, the first floor boasts a high-ceilinged formal living room, a gourmet kitchen, and a spacious master suite with his-and-her baths, closets and a built-in coffee bar. Nearby is a wood-paneled library with white-oak herringbone floors.

Aside from the formal living room is the family room, featuring one of seven fireplaces in the house, as well as a lounge with white leather club chairs and a built-in bar.

There is a guest suite, an attached garage large enough for six cars, and a catering kitchen for large events.

Up a grand curved staircase, to the second and third floors, are the remaining five bedrooms, an exercise room with a steam shower, a studio room with built-in cabinets, a game room with a full bar, and a media room with stadium seating.

Swanson said this “crown jewel” took four years to build.

“It’s been like watching a baby grow up, to watch this house being built, to see how much care and craftsmanship it took to get it to this level,” Swanson said.

The house has been on the market since the end of last March. Swanson said there has been some local interest, as well as interest from buyers from New York, Connecticut and the West Coast.
