Trophy Club man faces federal child porn charges

Federal agents conduct a child exploitation raid at a Trophy Club Home
Federal agents and police raided this residence on Alamosa Drive in Trophy Club.

TROPHY CLUB — A well-groomed home on Alamosa Drive in Trophy Club may hold a well-kept secret.

Smashed out windows show evidence of a pre-dawn raid by federal agents and local police. A spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said a team executed an arrest warrant Tuesday.

Jayce Craft, 28, was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Federal criminal complaints were filed Wednesday against Craft, who lived at the home with his parents and adult brother.

Craft, the son of a Southlake pastor, faces federal charges of transportation of child pornography and possession of child pornography, crimes that authorities believe occurred from Jan. 30 until Tuesday.

Homeowner George Craft told WFAA by phone that his family was awakened Tuesday by loud bangs, bright lights and drawn guns. He said agents searched all computers in the home, but made no arrests.

Craft said his wife and two grown sons were home at the time. Neighbors like Carl Megow didn't know what to think.

"You got the heavy hitters if you've got ICE and Homeland Security," he said.

Megow said the raid lit up Facebook because there is so little crime in the area.

"Usually, the high point is someone left their garage door open and someone stole their golf clubs. That's about it," he said.

Jayce Craft has a criminal history in North Texas, according to the Star-Telegram. He's been arrested at least four times since 2008 for evading arrest, possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated and making a false report to a police officer, according to Denton County criminal court records.
