GRAND PRAIRIE Police said a small child wandering alone through a Grand Prairie apartment complex on Saturday morning led to the discovery of her mother, who had been murdered.

Officers were called to the Williamsburg Apartments in the 2400 block of South Carrier Parkway shortly after 9:30 a.m. by a resident who found the girl walking by herself.

They discovered the door to one apartment was open. Inside was the girl's mother, identified as 26-year-old Elisa Tranise Johnson.

The child was not physically injured, and was placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Johnson's aunt, Carolyn Bradford, wants the killer to confess. "We pray that God would not let them eat, sleep or be able to see anything but her face... the face of the person that you killed," she said.

A police spokesman said detectives were reviewing evidence and trying to develop a timeline of Johnson's activities in the hours leading up to her death. They ask that anyone with information about this case get in touch with investigators.
